First Conference of CDRF Fourth Council Concluded

The first conference of the Fourth Council of China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) was held on January 16, 2017.

At the conference, Li Wei introduced the transition to and composition of the Fourth Council. He was elected President of the Fourth Council, and Liu Shijin and Lu Mai Vice President. The work report and financial report of the Third Council, delivered by Lu Mai, were reviewed and passed at the conference. The appointments of Chief Supervisor and Supervisors of the Fourth Council were announced, and Lu Mai was appointed Secretary General, with Fang Jin and Xiao Qingwen as Deputy Secretary General. The conference approved revisions to CDRF Constitution, determined members of the Academic Committee and Assets and Remuneration Committee, and discussed important matters such as the Foundation’s future development.

The conference acknowledged that the Foundation, under the leadership of the Third Council and the support of the DRC, had made new breakthroughs, achieved remarkable results in all aspects of work, and built up its brand and influence in terms of international communication and exchanges, social experiments and policy evaluation, research projects and training.

It is expected that under the leadership of the Fourth Council, all members of the Foundation would capitalize on the existing advantages and institutional flexibility, align their work with that of the DRC, and make concerted efforts to expand international communication and exchanges, promote public relations, lift the level of research, strengthen capacity building, internal management and assets management so as to make new progress and better serve the needs of national development.

Li Wei presided over the conference. In his remarks, Zhang Laiming affirmed the achievements of the Foundation, extended gratitude to the work of the Third Council, and put forward requirements and expectations for the Foundation’s future development. Also present at the conference were Zhang Hui, Director of DRC Personnel Bureau, Tao Pingsheng, Deputy Director of DRC General Office, Chen Guotang, CDRF Deputy Party Secretary and Secretary of Party Discipline Committee, and Xiao Qingwen, CDRF Deputy Secretary General.
