Secretary-General Lu Mai gave lecturers at the 2016 Interregional Seminar for Parliamentarians from Asian and African Countries

Secretary-General Lu Mai gave lecturers at the 2016 Interregional Seminar for Parliamentarians from Asian and African Countries sponsored by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress. He introduced the experience of China in implementing United Nations Millennium Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. He also briefed the attendees on the efforts made by the CDRF to promote child development in the hope that other Asian and African countries can draw on China's experience and expressed the willingness of the CDRF to cooperate with these countries in related fields.


A total of 26 parliamentarians from five Asian and African countries-including Bangladesh, Cambodia, Kenya, Rwanda and Zambia-attended the seminar which was chaired by Li Yang from the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress. Gu Qing, Assistant Country Director of UNDP, and Liu Junfeng, deputy director of the Department of Aid to Foreign Countries of the Ministry of Commerce, also gave lecturers at the seminar. The attendees also elaborated upon the progress made by their own governments and challenges faced by them under the new sustainable development framework.
