International Symposium on Constructing an Inclusive and Efficient Development Aid and Cooperation System was successfully held

Promoting common development through international development assistance and cooperation

On February 25, the International Symposium on Constructing an Inclusive and Efficient Development Aid and Cooperation System was held in Beijing. The symposium was co-sponsored by the CDRF and the School of Economics of Peking University and co-organized by Beijing Bozhi Economic and Social Development Institute and the Center for Human and Economic Development Studies of Peking University. Amartya Sen, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics and professor of Harvard University, gave a keynote speech. More than 20 experts and scholars from domestic well-known universities, think tanks, non-governmental organizations and international organizations (including the United Nations Development Program, the Finance Center for South-South Cooperation and the Asian Development Bank) delivered speeches at the symposium. More than 100 guests from home and abroad attended the symposium.

        During the one-day event, the experts discussed the role and shortcomings of the existing international development assistance and cooperation system, how to promote and improve South-South cooperation in the context of new international political and economic order, knowledge sharing in international development, the role of G20 platform in international cooperation, how China should play an active role in international development assistance and promoting common development and other issues.
