On the afternoon of September 22, 2016, Bozhi Macro Forum, sponsored by the CDRF, Beijing Bozhi Economic and Social Development Institute and Guotai Junan Securities, held the 12th monthly meeting at the building of the CDRF. Liu Shijin, former deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council and vice chairman of the CDRF, presided over the meeting. Cao Yuanzheng, chief economist at the Bank of China, Wang Xiaolu, deputy director of the National Economic Research Institute, China Reform Foundation, Xiao Jincheng, former director of the Land Development and Regional Economy Research Institute, the National Development and Reform Commission, Shen Minggao, chief economist of CEBM under Caixin Insight Group, Zhang Bin, research fellow, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Ren Zeping, chief economist at Founder Securities and other guests from government departments, academic institutions and financial institutions guests attended the meeting.
This meeting with the theme of “China's economic growth model and challenges” was chaired by Tao Ran, professor at the School of Economics, Renmin University of China. Attendees had a heated discussion about the drivers and characteristics of China's economic growth in different historical stages, whether there was a Chinese economic growth model, the relationship between macro-economic control and marketization and the main challenges facing the Chinese economy.
