On the afternoon of December 12, 2022, the China Development Research Foundation held a symposium on “Building EV battery standard to power low carbon transformation of industry chain”. This symposium focused on the top-level design, and practical progress, R&D needs, and solution of new energy automotive battery’s standard construction, and invited government officials, experts and scholars, industry associations, and enterprise representatives to carry out exchanges and discussions.

The symposium was chaired by Cheng Huiqiang, Deputy Secretary-General of the CDRF, and Fang Jin, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of CDRF delivered a speech. Government officials, experts, and scholars from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Equipment Industry Development Center, National New Energy Vehicle Technology Innovation（NEVC), China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co. Ltd sorted out and analyzed the status quo and trend of power battery standard construction from the perspective of national policies. Business representatives from BMW, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited CATL, Tianneng Holdings Group shared the company's power battery standard R&D practices and needs. Experts from China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS), China Association of Automobile Manufactures(CAAM), China National Resources Recycling Association, Institute of process engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences put forward professional suggestions for improving the construction of power battery standard system. More than 40 representatives from different institutions attended the symposium. On the basis of in-depth exchanges, the participants reached a consensus on the importance and urgency of strengthening the construction of the new energy automotive battery standard system, and the next step will be to jointly promote the development of China's New energy automotive battery standard system.
