Good Governance in China
With the approval of the Organization Department of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, the Development Research Center of the State Council has been holding the annual advanced training programs on public administration since 2002 in close cooperation with Tsinghua University in China and Harvard University in America.
In the light of the practical working experience, the trainees completed their cases which profoundly showed Chinese governmental officials’ exploration of public administration reform from an insider’s perspective. The cases cover a wide range of issues including economic reform and development, government institutional reform, social policy-making and governance, infrastructure construction and municipal administration, crisis management, resource and ecological environmental management.
Since 2006 we have selected some excellent cases and composed the series Good Governance in China—A Way towards Social Harmony: Case Studies by China’s Rising Leader. Cases in the book series showing the great endeavors from the Communist Party and Chinese government for building a harmonious society and the well-grounded practical working style of China’s rising leaders. It is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to understand China’s reform and public administration.
