Entrepreneurship and Leadership of Women in Context of Urbanization: Challenges and Countermeasures
The Third Seminar on Entrepreneurship and Leadership of Women in Context of Urbanization: Challenges and Countermeasures was held in Beijing on July 22, 2013. This seminar aimed to discuss international and domestic investment in women as well as policy practices that drive the development of women’s entrepreneurship and leadership, and to conduct a comparative analysis of women's entrepreneurship training programs and their efficiency through domestic and international case studies.
The seminar was chaired by Fang Jin, deputy secretary general of the CDRF. Tong Xin, professor of Peking University, William Adema, senior economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, and Cheng Na of Boston Consulting Group introduced key points of views and findings presented in the three background reports of the project. They analyzed China's achievements in supporting women's entrepreneurship and development as well as the new challenges faced by women in the context of urbanization and economic and social transformation from three perspectives: the comprehensive development of women in China, support policies for women entrepreneurs in the world, and the corporation. They also offered relevant policy suggestions. Experts from the UN Global Compact, Women's Studies Institute of China of the All-China Women's Federation, Institute of Labor Science of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, China Entrepreneurs Confederation, the YouChange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation, Renmin University, University of International Business and Economics and other institutions exchanged views on relevant issues in the background reports.
