CDRF Holds the children’s art performance in Daming County, Hebei Province

On January 13, 2019, the performance was co-held by CDRF and Civil Affairs Bureau of Daming County at the Daming Campus of Handan University.

This art show was the first collective event for children from different villages and towns since the "Village Child Welfare Director Program" was launched in Daming County. Children and village child welfare directors from a total of 12 villages in 3 towns orchestrated 27 programs in an array of forms such as recitations, songs, dances and martial arts. This show was attended by the leaders of the county government office, persons in charge of the civil affairs bureau, and teachers and students of Daming Campus.

Since the program was started in 2017, village child welfare directors actively carried out home visitings with left-behind children and children in difficult circumstances in their own villages, and also took targeted measures to address the problems faced by these children in their studies and life.

The performance was not only a summary of the work done by the village child welfare directors over the past year, but also provided a platform for rural children to shine. It was supported by families of these children and township governments. The shows were scored by judges, and awarded the first, second and third prizes. Besides, an award ceremony was held to encourage the participating children. In the future, this program will encourage townships to organize a variety of children's events and enrich the extra-curricular life of rural children.
