Lu Mai Leads a Delegation to Visit Nujiang, Yunnan

From May 15 to 17, 2019, Secretary General Lu Mai led a delegation to visit Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as Nujiang Prefecture), Yunnan, to investigate the "One Village One Preschool" program of the CDRF . The CDRF delegation had a meeting with relevant personnel of the local government, and visited Fugong County, Lushui City, Nujiang Prefecture, to learn the implementation of the "One Village One Preschool" program.

On the afternoon of May 15, Secretary General Lu Mai led the delegation to visit Wuhu Resettlement Site, Tuoping Village, Pihe Township, and Fugong County. They communicated with residents in the resettlement site and students from Wuhu Kindergarten. Later, the delegation visited Wuhu Kindergarten in Tuoping Village, Pihe Township, and Lamenni Kindergarten in Zilijia Township. Accompanied by relevant personnel of the kindergartens, the delegation investigated the status quo of the One Village One Preschool program. Wuhu Kindergarten is a new site of the program. It has been opened for a short while. The activity room of the village committee is used to run One Village One Preschool.

On the morning of May 16, the survey team visited Yiside Kindergarten in Lumadeng Township, Fugong County and Zigudi Kindergarten in Shangpa Town, Fugong County to learn the progress of the One Village One Preschool program.

On the afternoon of May 16, demonstration classes and an exchange meeting for volunteers were held at Fugong County Kindergarten. Newly recruited volunteers observed two demonstration classes.

On May 17, Secretary General Lu Mai led the delegation to return to Lushui City and had a symposium with relevant responsible persons of the Yunnan Provincial Education Department and Nujiang Prefecture. Secretary General Lu Mai, Wang Shiping, Vice Governor of Nujiang Prefecture, Liu Gang, the Division Chief of the Basic Education Division, the Yunnan Provincial Education Department, He Songping, the Director of the Education and Sports Bureau of Nujiang Prefecture, and relevant personnel of the education and sports bureau of the four counties in Nujiang Prefecture attended the symposium. Director He communicated with relevant personnel of the counties involved in the program about the progress of the program. Division Chief Liu held that the "One Village One Preschool" model was suitable for Nujiang Prefecture, and raised work requirements. In his concluding remarks, Vice Governor Wang deemed that a meeting would be held soon to issue prefecture-level documents to promote the implementation of the program.

In June 2018, the CDRF signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Yunnan Provincial Education Department, Zhejiang Xinhu Group Co., Ltd., and the New Home Association in Hong Kong to implement the "Xinhu Rural Kindergarten Program" in Nujiang Prefecture with the Xinhu Foundation as the sponsor. The CDRF would support the program with its years of experience in "One Village One Preschool". All the parties would closely cooperate with the local government and strive to realize the full coverage of One Village One Preschool in Nujiang Prefecture by 2020 and raise the three-year preschool enrolment rate of Nujiang Prefecture to 90%. The survey team learned the implementation of the "One Village One Preschool Program" in Nujiang Prefecture and discussed and addressed the problems during the implementation of the program.
