In May 2018, the CDRF cooperated with the People's Government of Leibo County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province to jointly launch the Bright Start Program in Leibo County which covers three sub-programs, namely, the One Village One Preschool Teacher and Kitchen Improvement Program, the China Rural Education and Child Health (China REACH) Program, and the Infant Nutrition Improvement Program in Rural Poor Areas, and completed the baseline survey of the program in June 2018. In the one year since the implementation of the Bright Start Program, children in the program were comprehensively intervened in three aspects, namely, education, parenting, and nutrition. The program was recognized by the families involved and made good results.

In order to assess the effectiveness of the program, on May 12, 2019, Liu Bei, Liang Bojiao, and Xie Yushan of the Child Development Center, the CDRF, went to Leibo County to conduct a follow-up survey on the Bright Start Program.

Families involved in the program strongly supported the survey. Parents and children actively participated in the test. This follow-up survey lasted for five days. A total of 1,089 children were tested, including the children involved in three sub-programs, namely, the One Village One Preschool Teacher and Kitchen Improvement Program, China REACH, and the Infant Nutrition Improvement Program in Rural Poor Areas. Important feedback would be derived from the survey results to promote program implementation.
