The 6th Training Program for Principals of "For the Future: Secondary Vocational Education Program" Completes Successfully

From June 17-21, 2019, the 6th "New Channel" Training Program for Principals of Secondary Vocational Schools of "For the Future: Secondary Vocational Education Program" was successfully held in Wuhan, Hubei. This training program was sponsored by the CDRF, supported by Daimler Greater China Ltd. (DGRC), and organized by Wuhan City Polytechnic. 35 leaders and teachers from 31 pilot schools in Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangdong, and Hebei Provinces attended this training.



In 2016, the CDRF, supported by the Ministry of Education, launched "For the Future: Secondary Vocational Education Program" which has directly benefited 150,000 secondary vocational students. This program covers student training camps, training programs for principals of secondary vocational schools, campus cultural activities, the campus cultural activity fund and the "Win the Future" Scholarship for Teachers and Students. It promotes the cultural quality improvement program and the deep campus-enterprise cooperation platform. And it aims to empower students with a lifelong development ability, and cultivate positive and healthy talent with new skills through interventions.


The program will continue to focus on students, give priority to cultural knowledge, professional skills, and psychological development, further push the formulation of policies related to secondary vocational education, and raise the social recognition of secondary vocational education and students.


Since the launch of "For the Future: Secondary Vocational Education Program", five sessions of training programs for principals of secondary vocational schools were successfully held in places including Beijing, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, attracting nearly 240 participants.


Prof. He Zhen of the Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, Jiang Hao, the Director of Industry Project the Public Utilities Department, Microsoft China, Rainer Wieland, Senior Consultant of Vocational Education and Certification, DGRC, and Hu Yi, the Vocational Education Project Manager, DGRC, were invited to the 6th training program for principals.


Training were conducted on the direction of the vocational education reform, industrial upgrading, the campus-enterprise cooperation reform, and the dual system vocational education in Germany. Based on the national economic development trend and the Implementation Plan for the National Vocational Education Reform ("Vocational Education 20" for short), Prof. He Zhen deeply analyzed the future development and reform directions of vocational education, and recognized "For the Future: Secondary Vocational Education Program" which centers on students and emphasizes comprehensive quality development including skills, mental health, and social abilities.
