Lu Mai Visits Ningqiang County, Shaanxi to Investigate the Early Childhood Development of Rural Families
On July 8, 2019, Lu Mai, Vice Chairman of the CDRF, and Du Zhixin, the Director of the Child Development Center, led a team to visit Ningqiang County, Shaanxi Province. They visited some rural households with children aged six to 36 months. And they held a meeting with the Ningqiang County Government to introduce the early childhood development work and the China REACH program of the CDRF.
On the morning of that day, women's federations at provincial, municipal, and
county levels and the organization department of the county accompanied Vice
Chairman Lu Mai to visit three poverty-stricken households with children aged
0-3 in Hanyuan Village, Ningqiang County to learn the socio-economic status and
parenting behavior of local families.
In the afternoon, Vice Chairman Lu Mai held a meeting with county leaders,
including County Mayor Li Jianjun, and leaders of women's federations at
provincial, municipal, and county levels, to discuss the possibility of
implementing the "China Rural Education and Child Health (China REACH) Program"
in Ningqiang County. Representatives from the health bureau, statistics bureau,
poverty alleviation office, and organization department of Ningqiang County, the
sub-district office of Hanyuan Village, and women's federations of Shaanxi
Province, Hanzhong City, and Ningqiang County attended the meeting and delivered
speeches.
