Fang Jin Attends the “Seminar on the Pilot Program of At-home Guidance for Care for Children Aged 0-3 in Rural Areas”

On April 9, CDRF Secretary General Fang Jin, Child Development Center Director Du Zhixin and Child Development Center’s program deputy manager Bu Fan visited China Population and Development Research Center (CPDRC) for the “Seminar on the Pilot Program of At-home Guidance for Care for Children Aged 0-3 in Rural Areas”.

The meeting was centered on the pilot program of at-home guidance for infant and child care in rural areas in cooperation of the three parties of CDRF, CPDRC and China Family Planning Association (CFPA), with the ways and intention of cooperation being identified. Based on CDRF’s experience in “China REACH”, CPDRC’s big data platform and research advantage and CFPA’s edge in personnel organization, the three parties will better explore the working mechanism and approaches for care for children aged 0-3 in rural areas.

CPDRC Director He Dan said CPDRC paid great attention to its cooperation with CDRF, organized a special team to study plans and raise funds, and was willing to contribute to the pilot program in different ways. Fang Jin expressed gratitude to the two other parties for their cooperation. He pointed out that early child nurturing was a fundamental task crucial for generations to come, in which area CDRF has rich experience, and a joint working group by the three parties would be able to better summarize experience and promote policy making and execution. He also mentioned CDRF would communicate with government in related pilot areas as soon as possible and get fully prepared at the early stage.
