"Digital Education for Rural Children" held the first training meeting in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region
In order to improve the digital infrastructure for rural education, access to digital learning, and enhance the digital capabilities of rural children, teachers, and families, the China Development Research Foundation held a training session for “Digital education for Rural Children” program in Chayouhou Banner, Ulan Qab, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on December 24 to 25, 2020.
This training was held by the China Development Research Foundation and Education Bureau of Chayouhou Banner. Lenovo smart education specialists and the Beijing TAL Foundation project director were invited to serve as trainers. Teacher representatives from 7 primary schools in Chayouhou Banner and staff of the Education Bureau participated in the training.
Before the start of the training, Zhao Hang, deputy program manager of CDRF introduced the background and goals of the project. Wang Bin of Chayouhou Banner Education Bureau, delivered opening remark.
Three experts from Lenovo and TAL Foundation delivered digital capacity training for the participants, including class prep for smart classrooms, interactive classroom lectures, and platform use, etc. Lenovo also implemented digital learning equipment deployment plans, and installed and adjusted hardware and software facilities and equipment.
Teachers of Chayouhou Banner felt that they had benefited a lot and said that after returning to school, they would apply the digital knowledge and skills in the training to daily teaching work as soon as possible and strive to drive students and parents to improve their digital skills together. In the future, Digital Education for Rural Children program will hold regular training workshops and lectures to continuously improve digital awareness and capacity of rural teachers, students, and parents.
