The Second Term of the China-Italy Philanthropy Forum has Made Positive Progress
On May 5, 2023, the high-level workshop on cross-cultural collaborative philanthropy of the China-Italy Philanthropy Forum (CIPF) was held in Rome, Italy. Representatives from the business community, academia, and non-profit organizations in China, Italy, and other European countries discussed topics such as achievements and lessons learned from the forum, fostering Europe-China philanthropic cooperation, and inspirational best practices in contemporary philanthropy.
In November 2022, the China Development Research Foundation, the TOChina Hub at the University of Turin, and Peking University's National School of Development signed the second term of the China-Italy Philanthropy Forum (CIPF; 2022-2025) at dual venues in Beijing and Rome. A joint initiative was announced to raise funds for children's public welfare projects.
The funds raised will be used to support the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome, Italy, in providing humanitarian treatment for children from around the world, as well as China Rural Education and Child Health (China REACH) program initiated by the China Development Research Foundation. The initiative has received positive responses from Chinese philanthropists. During the workshop, Rockcheck Puji Welfare Foundation donated to Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital, opening up new practical exchanges between the two countries in promoting social development and human welfare.
On May 6th, the first offline Meeting of CIPF Steering Committee was held along with first Meeting with members of CIPF International Board of Advisors. Members of both committees had important discussions about future developments regarding the forum while actively uniting Europe-China philanthropic forces to carry out pragmatic cooperation on training programs, research, and other areas.
