40 plus Multinationals Visits Dongcheng District in Beijing
On June 6, 2023, China Development Research Foundation (CDRF), Beijing Foreign Affairs Office and Dongcheng District Government hosted 40 plus multinational enterprises to visit Dongcheng District, Beijing. The event was attended by representatives of more than 40 Chinese and foreign enterprises, including HSBC, Procter & Gamble, Starbucks China, Lenovo Group, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of China Development Research Foundation, Fang Jin, and officials of Dongcheng District, including Tong Lizhi and Tang Li.
This event is the first follow up event of the China Development Forum 2023, inviting the heads of multinational companies in China to visit Beijing, to boost the confidence of multinational companies in China's development and economic recovery.
The delegation visited Mogo.ai in GTC Industrial Cluster and Hengxin Oriental Culture Co., Ltd. in Gehua Qinglong Industrial Cluster, as well as Longfu Cultural Center, Time Museum and District Government Service Hall.
Enterprise representatives have expressed that they have personally experienced the progress and achievements made by Dongcheng in optimizing business environment and promoting industrial upgrading, and enhanced their understanding of Dongcheng’s industrial development and business environment.
At the subsequent investment policy promotion meeting, Fang Jin pointed out that "multinational enterprises play an important role in China's economic development. CDRF will continue to organize multinational enterprises to visit local governments. The first stop of these event being Dongcheng District of Beijing is an important and demonstrative initiative to promote Dongcheng and to further strengthen the cooperation between multinational companies and Dongcheng District."
Tong Lizhi, Vice District Mayor of Dongcheng, expressed her gratitude to CDRF and representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises for their interest and support to Dongcheng, and hoped that through the Foundation, more enterprises, brands and projects with significant influence at home and abroad would be invited to gather in Dongcheng and more global talents would be attracted to take root in Dongcheng.
Tang Li, Vice District Mayor of Dongcheng, said in the meeting: "This event aims to showcase Dongcheng’s business environment and high-quality economic development in all aspects, help more multinational enterprises gain a deeper understanding of Dongcheng's unique advantages in reform and innovation, policy environment, etc., attract more high-quality enterprises and projects to Dongcheng, enhance cooperation, and achieve mutual benefit. "
