CDRF Holds Training for Early Parenting Centers in Rural Child Development Demonstration Zone in Bijie Pilot Area
To provide better early parenting services and further improve the comprehensive interventions done in Rural Child Development Demonstration Zone in Bijie Pilot Area, the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) held a training event from June 13 to 18, 2023 for parenting instructors to organize center-based activities in early parenting centers.
The training was hosted by the CDRF, organized by the Health Bureau and the Family Planning Association of Weining County, and implemented by Beijing GYMBABY Co. 42 supervisors and parenting instructors from Weining, Hezhang, Weaving and Nayong counties participated in the training. At the opening ceremony, Ma Yanhu, director of Weining County Family Planning Association, delivered a speech, emphasizing the importance of the early parenting program for 0-3 year olds’ development, welcoming the trainees and setting expectations for them.
The training consisted of two modules: theory and practice. The theoretical module mainly includes the work standards and requirements of instructors, professional knowledge of infants and toddlers, design of group play activities, co-parenting, problem solving, etc.; the practical module includes the analysis of specific game sessions, demonstration and practical exercises, use of play and teaching aids, etc. The training helped the instructor familiarize with the relevant knowledge and skills through rich interaction, discussion, case study, demonstration, practice and review, homework and feedback.
Weining County, Hezhang County, Weaving County and Nayong County will continue to carry out systematic group play activities in early parenting centers in an orderly manner, and continue to promote the practice and exploration of early parenting program in Rural Child Development Demonstration Zone in Bijie Pilot Area.
