Full Time Vice Chairman of Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party visits CDRF
21 July 2023, Wang Lu, Deputy Secretary General of the National Committee of
the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Full Time
Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers
Democratic Party (CPWDP), and his delegation visited China Development Research
Foundation (CDRF). Lu Mai, former Vice Chairman of CDRF, and Qiao Zhengyang,
Deputy Secretary General, held a discussion with the CPWDP delegation.
Staff from CDRF's Child Development Research Institute gave presentation on
CDRF's child development programs, and the two sides discussed the
implementation of Rural Child Development Demonstration Zone in Bijie Pilot
Area, and opportunities for cooperation in those areas.
Wang Lu praised CDRF’s work on early child development and Rural Child
Development Demonstration Zone in Bijie Pilot Area. He pointed out that
demographic development is a general, long-term and strategic issue, and the
social services pilot programs in the Bijie is of great policy significance. He
said that the CPWDP always serve the overall interests of the country, and hopes
to undertake in-depth and fruitful cooperation with CDRF in child development
and policy research.
Lu Mai said that one of the important activities of CDRF is to carry out
pilot programs, which can provide basis for the formulation and implementation
of national policies. CDRF hopes to block the intergenerational transmission of
poverty through the provision of child development services in underdeveloped
areas. He said that the two parties should leverage their strengths and play a
greater role through cooperation.
Qiao Zhengyang said that a focus of Bijie Rural Child Development
Demonstration Zone in Bijie Pilot Area is to connect interventions for various
developmental stages into a continuous child development service, to which
interdepartmental collaboration is key. He hopes the cooperation between CDRF
and CPWDP could break silos and help the work in Bijie.
Guo Hongquan, a deputy to the NPC and director of the Research Office of the
Central Committee of the CPWDP, Xiong Feng, director of the General Office of
the Department of Participating in the Discussion and Handling of State Affairs
of the Central Committee of the CPWDP, Guo Jiang, director of the Culture,
Education and Health Division of the Department of Social Services of the
Central Committee of the CPWDP, and Cao Yan, Shi Lijia, Assistant Director of
the Child Development Research Institute of CDRF, Wu Zhiping, senior Program
Director of the Child Development Research Institute of CDRF, Guo Silu, Deputy
Director of the Department of Public Relations of CDRF and other relevant
personnel joined the discussion.
