CDRF Holds "For the Future" Mental Health Curriculum Development Workshop
On July 16 to 22, 2023, China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) and
Positive Psychology Research Center in School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua
University jointly organized a curriculum development workshop under the "For
the Future: Vocational Education Enhancement Program”, aiming to incorporate
firsthand teaching experience into mental health class sessions in secondary
vocational schools, so as to make the classes more suitable for the
psychological development and needs of the students.
12 mental health teachers and instructors from “For the Future” pilot schools
in Guangdong, Sichuan and Guizhou were selected through written tests and
interviews, to participate in the workshop in Beijing. Liang Jianxi, a mental
health teacher from the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University, and
Li Zhong, the head of mental health education research group of the High School
Attached to Beijing Jiaotong University, instructed on the group and provided
technical guidance and teaching cases.
After a week of brainstorm, a total of 18 lessons of two modules were
optimized, forming a solid basis for the implementation of mental health
interventions of “For the Future”, and improving the technical knowledge and
practical ability of mental health teachers in vocational schools.
