For the Future Program Holds Training Course for Vocational School Principals
                                From 17 to 21 October 2023, China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) 
commissioned Shenzhen Polytechnic University to co-organize the 8th Training 
Course for Principals of Vocational Schools. The training event seeks to elevate 
their school running philosophies and promote the reform and development of 
vocational education.
44 principals and senior teachers from vocational schools across China 
gathered in Shenzhen to learn and discuss key issues in the development of 
vocational education. Shi Lijia, assistant director of the China Development 
Research Foundation's Child Development Research Institute, and Huang Biao, 
deputy secretary of the School of Continuing Education and Training of Shenzhen 
Polytechnic University, attended the opening ceremony and delivered 
speeches.
The training focuses on key issues such as integration of vocational 
education, reform of vocational education, and capacity building of vocational 
schools etc. Through lectures by vocational education experts, visits to schools 
and enterprises, and on-site teaching, trainees gained better understanding of 
the development trend of vocational education, policy directions, as well as the 
integration of general and vocational education, and the integration of 
vocational education and industry. The trainees gained comprehensive and 
practical experience to promote the high-quality development of vocational 
education.
Vocational education is an important pathway to create talents and an 
important foundation for economic and social development. Vocational schools 
leaders are the decisive factor in developing their schools and its students. 
This training event not only improved the principals’ philosophy and leadership, 
but also made exploration in the innovation and development of vocational 
education in China. Trainees said that they value this opportunity to continue 
to deepen the teaching reform, improve the quality of vocational education, 
contribute to creating  more skilled talents, and the sustainable development of 
vocational education.
