The MoU for the third term of China-Italy Philanthropy Forum was signed and exchanged under the witness of the Heads of China and Italy
On the afternoon of November 8th, President Xi Jinping of China and President Mattarella of Italy, who is on a state visit to China, jointly witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements. In the presence of the two heads of state, Dr. FANG Jin, Secretary General of the China Development Research Foundation, and Dr. Giovanni ANDORNINO, President of the Torino World Affairs Institute in Italy, representing relevant institutions of the two countries, signed and exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding for the third term of China-Italy Philanthropy Forum (CIPF).
On the morning of November 9th, a High-Level Workshop of the China-Italy Philanthropy Forum was held at the Wanzhong Building of Peking University, with the theme of Action Research and Collaborative Philanthropy. Representatives from the business community, academia, and charity organizations from China, Italy, and other European countries exchanged on topics such as families, universities and philanthropy, and the role of CIPF for collaborative philanthropy.
On the afternoon of November 9th, Italian President Mattarella attended the ceremony for the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding for China-Italy Philanthropy Forum and the establishment of Agnelli Chair of Italian Culture at Zhibeizi Yard of Peking University.
The China-Italy Philanthropy Forum was established in March 2019 during President Xi Jinping's state visit to Italy. The MoU for the second term of (2022-2025) was officially signed in November 2022. President Xi Jinping and President Mattarella respectively sent letters of congratulations to the Italian Honorary Co-Chairman of CIPF. Partner entities for the third term of CIPF include: China Development Research Foundation, China-Europe Philanthropy Innovation Research Center at Peking University, National School of Development at Peking University, University of Turin, Torino World Affairs Institute and ESCP.
