(1) Manuscript Format
Manuscripts must comply with the academic paper writing standards, including title, abstract, keywords, main text, and references.
(2) Word Count Requirement: The main text should be no less than 6,000 words.
(3) Language Requirement: Chinese.
(4) Originality requirement:
The submitted work must be original and not published in any other collections or media platforms. Plagiarism and other academic misconduct are strictly prohibited.
(5) Author Information
When submitting, the names, units, and contact details of all authors must be provided. The number of co-authors for a manuscript should not exceed three.
IV. Remuneration and Labor Fees Explanation
(1) Remuneration Standards
The labor fee for each accepted manuscript is RMB 10,000 (pre-tax).
The labor fee is only paid to the first author. The distribution ratio and method within the team are to be negotiated by the author team and are not related to the Foundation.
(2) Payment Time
The labor fee will be paid by the Foundation after the manuscript is officially accepted and published. Manuscripts that are accepted but not officially published will not be paid.
(3) Tax Treatment
The labor fee is a pre-tax amount, and the related taxes will be withheld and paid by the Foundation.
V. Intellectual Property Rights Authorization Explanation
(1) Ownership of Intellectual Property Rights
The copyright of the submitted work belongs to the author, who enjoys the moral rights such as the right to be named, the right to modify, and the right to protect the integrity of the work.
(2) Usage Rights of the Foundation and the Publisher
Once a manuscript is accepted, the author must grant the China Development Research Foundation and CITIC Publishing the following rights: To publish, distribute, and disseminate the work in the form of print, electronic, online, etc., worldwide; To edit, modify, translate, compile, etc., the work to meet the needs of publication and dissemination; To include the work in databases or other digital platforms for the public to search, read, and download.
(3) Third-Party Usage Authorization
The Foundation and CITIC Publishing have the right to authorize third parties to use the work, including but not limited to academic institutions, libraries, databases, etc.; The manuscript may be excerpted or translated in accordance with academic standards; Third parties must indicate the author's information and source when using the work.
(4) Authorization Method and Term
The author must sign the "Intellectual Property Rights Authorization Letter" to grant the Foundation and CITIC Publishing exclusive usage rights within the agreed period.
The exclusive authorization term is 10 years, starting from the date of the first publication of the work. After the expiration of the authorization period, the author may decide whether to renew the contract.
Rights and Obligations of the Author
The author has the right to publish the work on personal academic websites, blogs, and other non-commercial platforms, but must indicate that it has been published in the Journal of China Children Development Review.
The author must ensure that the submitted work is original and does not infringe on the intellectual property rights of any third party. If any legal disputes arise from the content of the work, the author must bear full responsibility.
VI. Submission and Publication Process
(1) Submission Method
Manuscripts must be submitted through the official website of the Journal or the designated email. Submission is considered as agreement with the content of this call for papers and compliance with the relevant rights and obligations stipulated in this call for papers, and confirmation that the manuscript content meets the requirements of the Journal.
After submission, manuscripts will go through three stages: preliminary review, external review, and final review. The review period is generally 1-2 months, and authors can inquire about the progress from the Foundation's contact person.
After acceptance, the Foundation and CITIC Publishing have the right to edit and modify the manuscript to ensure that the content meets the publication standards.
The views expressed in the manuscript are the responsibility of the author, and the Foundation and CITIC Publishing do not assume any responsibility arising therefrom.
Once a manuscript is accepted, the author may not withdraw it without cause. If there is a special reason for withdrawal, a written application must be submitted in advance and approved in writing by the editorial department. Otherwise, the Foundation has the right to publish and use the manuscript according to this call for papers. If any disputes arise as a result, the author will be held responsible.
VII. Risk Warning
1. Disputes over the payment of manuscript fees
(1) The labor fee is only paid to the first author, and the issue of internal distribution within the team has nothing to do with the Foundation.
(2) The author team needs to negotiate the distribution ratio and method to avoid disputes.
2. Ideological risk
(1) The views expressed in the manuscript are solely those of the authors, and the Foundation and CITIC Publishing Group do not assume any responsibility.
(2) The content of the manuscript should strictly abide by national laws and regulations, conform to the core values of socialism, and not involve sensitive topics or illegal information. Authors should improve their political position, deeply understand the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important exposition on ideological work, enhance political sensitivity and discernment, ensure that the content of the manuscript is positive, spread positive energy, and resolutely safeguard national ideological security.
VIII. Legal Effectiveness
1. Authors need to ensure that the content of the manuscript complies with national laws and regulations, and must not contain any illegal content. In the process of creation, the author should strictly abide by the relevant laws and regulations, and avoid violations of laws and regulations such as infringing on the intellectual property rights of others, harming national interests, and disrupting social order. If a legal dispute arises due to the content of the manuscript, the author shall bear all legal responsibilities.
2. Submitting a manuscript is considered as acceptance of all the terms of this call for papers. In case of any disputes, both parties will resolve them through friendly consultation; if consultation fails, the matter will be handled in accordance with the law.

The China Child Development Review is a biannual journal jointly founded by the China Development Research Foundation and CITIC Press. It is edited by Fang Jin, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Development Research Foundation, and Du Zhixing, Executive Deputy Dean of the Child Development Research Institute. The journal also features an editorial board composed of renowned scholars in child development from both domestic and international circles. Characterized by academic leadership and policy practice, the journal aims to promote theoretical innovation and practical exploration in the field of child development, build a high-level academic exchange platform for scholars, policy makers and practitioners in the field of child development, and continuously enhance the academic and policy influence of the Institute of Child Development.
In January 2025, the first issue of the China Child Development Review was officially published, featuring the latest research findings from scholars such as James J. Heckman, Scott Rozelle, Li Shi, Cai Fang, and other prominent researchers from China and abroad. The issue covers four main sections—Theoretical Exploration, Social Experimentation, Policy Research, and International Experience—and includes 11 key articles. These articles address a range of topics, including the causal impact of early childhood development programs, multidimensional child poverty analysis, the concept of "Seedling Economics," and empirical studies and policy reviews on child development in poverty-stricken areas, early education policies, and international experiences in child development.
