On June 28 - July 1, 2016, Deputy Secretary-General of the CDRF Fang Jin led a team of eight members (including Zhu Hengpeng, deputy director of the Institute of Economics, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Shi Xiaojun, professor at the Insurance Department, the School of Finance at Renmin University of China, and Tao Cunwen, professor at the School of Insurance, Central University of Finance and Economics) to conduct a thorough survey on the development of commercial health insurance in Jiangyin and Taicang, Jiangsu Province.

At the seminar held in Jiangyin City, Gong Zhendong, Vice Mayor of Jiangyin City, Yan Junming, director of the Health and Family Planning Commission of Jiangyin City, and Hua Jiang, deputy director of the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, introduced the demographic composition, economic development and basic health insurance system of Jiangyin City as well as the management of the new type of rural cooperative medical care system by Pacific Life and exchanged views with the researchers.

        At the seminar held in Taicang City, Gu Minhua, director of the Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security of Taicang City, Qian Yingqi from the Health Insurance Fund Settlement Center and other officials explained in detail the drivers behind the commercial critical illness insurance in Taicang City and its development process, main problems and future direction.
