In order to understand and draw lessons from the experience of the United States in the development of its medical service supply system and the commercial health insurance sector, the research team led by Fang Jin, deputy secretary-general of the CDRF carried out a commercial health insurance research program at Harvard University and Washington from August 29 to September 1.

This program mainly consisted of two seminars. The first three-day seminar on commercial health insurance in the U.S. was held at the Harvard Medical School.

The second seminar was held at the headquarters of PhRMA in Washington. On this seminar, German experts and American health insurance officials introduced commercial health insurance models in five European countries, the role of the U.S. government in commercial health insurance programs and the U.S. drug delivery system respectively.
