Care for Women’s Health Project Team visits Shucheng, Anhui
On June 16-17, 2023, Cai Jianhua, senior advisor of the Child Development
Research Institute of China Development Research Foundation (CDRF), and Li Jin,
co-founder of the Foundation's Care for Women’s Health project, went to Shucheng
County in Liu'an, Anhui for field research.
Wang Jian, deputy mayor of Shucheng County, and Zhou Hang, a temporary staff
of Shucheng from the National Committee of the CPPCC, joined the discussion with
the CDRF team. Relevant staff in charge of Shucheng County Health Committee and
Women and Child’s Health and Family Planning Center briefed the team on the
status of the county's healthcare and health conditions.
Cai Jianhua introduced the Foundation's Care for Women’s Health project and
said that the CDRF would work with the local community to carry out various
forms of screening, awareness campaigns, and training activities to help women
in Shucheng know their own health status in a timely manner and raise health
awareness, thereby benefiting a wider range of families and helping women's
health and family development.
Zhao Ping, director of Shucheng County Health Committee, welcomed the team
and pointed out that the Care for Women’s Health is a new exploration of
cooperation between social organizations and local governments to carry out
health interventions. The county health department will actively participate in
the pilot, and look forward to cooperating in more areas in the future.
The team went to local healthcare facilities in Bolin and Songyu village, and
Tangchi and Shageng Village, to conduct research on their screening, prevention
and treatment services on breast cancer and cervical cancer.
Gao Yang, Senior Manager of Government Affairs of Danaher Group, a partner of
Care for Women’s Health, also participated in this activity.
