Seminar on Pilot Program “Green Growth and Smart City” Held in Chongqing
On July 9, 2013, the seminar on “Green Growth and Smart City” was jointly held in Chongqing by the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) and Chongqing Municipal Government. Vice Mayor Chen Heping, CDRF Secretary General Lu Mai and CDRF Deputy Secretary Cui Xin attended the seminar.
As the follow-up research program of China Development Forum, this seminar invited enterprises and local governments participating in the research group for face-to-face communication, who had in-depth discussion on the latest international progress and future trends in smart city, industrial upgrading, service sector, agricultural modernization and sustainable utilization of resources to seek cooperation opportunities to their common interest.
Representatives from the United Technologies Corporation, Caterpillar, Fiat, Siemens, the Dow Chemical Company, Schneider Electric, Amway, FedEx, MTR Corporation Limited, Standard Chartered Bank, HSBC Bank, Ericsson, Grundfos, the Boston Consulting Group, Grosvenor, Fonterra, Swiss Re-insurance Company and other large transnational enterprises attended the seminar and proposed diverse suggestions and implementation plans for Chongqing’s green city development and industrial upgrading. Chongqing Administration of Land, Resources and Housing, Chongqing Economic Commission, Chongqing Transport Commission, Chongqing Agriculture Bureau, Financial Affairs Office of Chongqing Municipal Government and relevant departments also participated. With warm discussion, the two sides expressed intention to cooperate on many projects and expected further communication.
