China Development Research Foundation held academic luncheon focusing on the reform of rural land system in China
On August 24th, China Development Research Foundation invited specialist Wang Xiaobei to give a lecture titled “Viewing the reform of rural land system in China from a worldwide perspective”. In the lecture, Ms Wang went through the history of how China’s rural land system came into being and its legal foundations. Based on examples from Europe, Asia and Africa, she also introduced the relative theories about the relationships and effects of land certification and economic development as well as the reduction of poverty. At last, she pointed out that land certification should go hand in hand with the improvement of relative laws and the deepening of reforms in financial areas, and foster culture in land certification. Ms Wang’s lecture sparked a heated discussion among the colleges.
