Under the guidance of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and with the approval of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the 2016 China Executive Leadership Program sponsored by the Development Research Center of the State Council and co-organized by the CDRF and the University of Cambridge in an attempt to improve the international competitiveness of Chinese companies took place smoothly on June 29 - July 21, 2016. Yu Bin, member of the Party Group and director of the Office of the Development Research Center of the State Council, served as the head of the class. Leaders of the Cadres Education Bureau of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Enterprise Bureau of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) and 22 executives from 15 state-owned enterprises participated in the training. Among them, Ma Jun, director of the Enterprise Research Institute affiliated to the Development Research Center of the State Council, Chen Guotang, deputy secretary of the CDRF and Li Fan from the CDRF completed the entire training program, while Hu Ziqiang, director the Department of Public Relations of the CDRF, completed part of the program.
This program was divided into two parts. The first part was a three-day workshop at the Chinese Academy of Governance. This workshop focused on eight subjects, including new trend in global industrial development and competition, the new normal of economic development and the supply side structural reform, industrial innovation and upgrading, media response and China-EU relation. The second part was a 21-day workshop at the University of Cambridge. This 70-hour workshop covered 18 subjects. The participants also visited HSBC headquarters and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the UK, and attended a number of seminars.
