Approved by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the first China Executive Leadership Program was offered in the United Kingdom, Spain and Denmark from October 9, 2005 to November 4, 2005. A total of 24 participants enrolled in the program. All of them were selected by the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee. This program was designed to meet the management needs of large enterprises in the context of economic globalization and offered 10 courses, covering issues such as challenges facing business leaders in the era of revolution of global business, corporate governance and human resources, mergers and acquisitions, globalization and supply chain management, branding and globalization, energy and environment, poverty, inequality and global markets, technology and international competition and risk management in the era of globalization. The program took place in Cambridge University in the UK, the Esaad Business School in Spain and Copenhagen Business School in Denmark,
It adopted teaching methods such as theoretical study and case study and invited 15 renowned professors from Judge Business School and Trinity College of the University of Cambridge, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and other universities to give lectures. Chairmen and CEOs of large multinational companies such as British Petroleum, Shell, HSBC Group and Morgan Stanley shared their experiences in related fields. During their stay in the UK, Spain and Denmark, the participants also visited some local companies.
The UK, Spain and Denmark attached great importance to the program. British Prime Minister Tony Blair met with the delegation at the Prime Minister's official residence on the morning of October 20. The Deputy Prime Minister of Denmark Bendsøe and the Crown Prince of Denmark met with the delegation on November 2.
