Training on Rural Compulsory Education Student Nutrition Improvement Program held in Ningxia

On May 13, 2023, the "Ningxia Rural Compulsory Education Student Nutrition Improvement Program Training Course", sponsored by the Department of Education of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and hosted by the People's Government of Xiji County, was held in tarted in Xiji County Seventh Middle School.



Lu Mai, former vice chairman of China Development Research Foundation, Wang Chengfeng, secretary of the party group and director of Education Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Li Hui, deputy director of Local Finance Division of Finance Department of Ministry of Education, Suo Feng, director of Finance Division of Education Department of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Ma Tianxia, deputy secretary of Party Committee and county governor of Xiji County, and Shao Jianbo and Xian Ruifang, officials from Xiji County, attended the opening ceremony. About 250 people from 11 counties (districts) in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region who are in charge of education departments and school principals and school canteen managers in Xiji County toik part in the training.


At the opening ceremony, Lu Mai delivered a speech on history and future of the nutrition improvement program. In the training session, Lu Zhengtian, principle staff of the Local Finance Division of the Finance Department of the Ministry of Education, gave a detailed explanation on the new version of the Implementation Measures of the Nutrition Improvement Program for Rural Compulsory Education Students promulgated by the Ministry of Education in 2022. Ma Tianxia, deputy secretary of the county party committee and governor of Xiji County, delivered a speech. Tan Weixing, head of School Health Section of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region CDC, gave talk on student nutrition health monitoring and dietary guidance. Xian Jinxiu, Director of Food Safety Supervision Institute of Guyuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, delivered a speech on the topic of "School food safety and implementation of the main responsibility". Zhao Yong, professor from Chongqing Medical University, shared his experience on the necessity of salt reduction and the practical exploration of salt reduction.
