Nutrition and Health Knowledge Training for School Nutrition Improvement Initiative Pilot Counties Is Held in Chengdu
In order to ensure the efficient implementation of the nutrition improvement plan for rural compulsory education students and improve the nutrition and health status of children in poverty-stricken areas, the CDRF held nutrition and health training for 68 directors of the nutrition offices of county education bureaus and relevant personnel of the School Nutrition Improvement Initiative pilot schools from 11 School Nutrition Improvement Initiative pilot counties in Chengdu from August 8 to 9, 2019. This training is co-sponsored by the CDRF and the Student Health Education Branch of the CASN&HP, and is hosted by Mars China.
Seven experts from China Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, College of Public Health and Management of Chongqing Medical University, Sichuan Tourism College, and Mars China gave lectures on nutrition and health knowledge for participants, mainly including the basic concepts of nutritional diet, diet for school-age children, guidance tools for school meals, scientific cooking and processing methods, practical activities in nutrition education for students, and food safety and oral health.
