Introduction

Launched in 2013, the project examines issues relating to China’s healthcare system, including demographic changes, health finance, service delivery models, medical service supply capacity, pharmaceutical and medical service innovation, and environmental health. It addresses key policy challenges facing the provision of healthcare in China and the need for reforms. Based on case study material in China and international experiences from the US, Switzerland and Germany, the project provides specific policy recommendations for deepening reforms in the health sector.
