The project assesses the development of water resources in cities above prefecture-level. Launched in 2015, it utilizes available information on water efficiency management and economic data, and applies a benchmarking method to evaluate and rank water efficiency of cities in different locations and development stages.  Preliminary findings have initiated discussions at academic and policy levels. The project is expected to be completed by end of 2016.
