The 5th International Conference on Poverty Reduction and Child Development was successfully held
The 5th International Conference on Poverty Reduction and Child Development, hosted by the CDRF and supported by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), was successfully held on October 27-28.
The theme of the symposium this year is that early childhood development is the key to ending poverty. Wang Mengkui, chairman of the CDRF, Han Jun, deputy director of the Office of the Central Leading Group for Financial and Economic Affairs, Zhang Laiming, Vice President of the Development Research Center of the State Council, Lin Huiqing, Deputy Minister of Education, Rana Flowers, representative of UNICEF in China, attended and delivered speeches respectively at the opening ceremony. More than 300 guests from governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, academic circles and business circles exchanged views on early childhood development, child poverty and inequality from the perspective of sustainable development goals as well as early child development interventions, investment, innovation, project expansion, quality improvement and other issues.
Since 2010, the CDRF has held four international conferences on poverty reduction and child development, which have had a positive impact on the Chinese government's decision making and practices to promote poverty reduction and child development
