Professional Development Training Network for Kindergarten Teachers of Daming County Launched

Professional Development Training Network for Kindergarten Teachers of Daming County Launch seminar was held in Daming County, Hebei on April 23. This training program is co-organized by China Development Research Foundation and Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation, College of Social Education at Beijing Open University and Chen Heqin Educators Association at Beijing Education Institute. Daming Bureau of Education coordinated the event. The program is designed to offer scientific and systematic training for kindergarten teachers of Daming and improving professional skills of teachers and the quality of kindergartens.


The program team introduced the background of training, demands on training, operating instructions for the network, etc. Two faculty members from The Kindergarten of Chen Heqin Educators Association at Beijing Education Institute are shared with participants their ideas on organizing games and activities for kindergarten and teaching theme.




This networking training applies modular approach in teaching. It is divided into four modules including professional development needs for kindergarten teachers, case studies and themed guidance of professional practice for kindergarten teachers, professional self-practice and review and Chen Heqin's teaching and practice. The training begins on April 24 and continues until July 18, with a total of 108 credit hours in 12 weeks. Every 6 teachers form a study group with two assigned teachers from kindergartens in Beijing and local kindergartens as instructors. Participants can watch videos and read papers in the sessions of each module by logging into the network. They can also post comments and questions for sharing their views and experiences on online forums or in WeChat groups. After each module ends each group needs to complete assignments and upload finished work for feedback and comments from instructors.
