Successful Convening of the Fourth China Public Management Forum
On May 6, 2012, the fourth China Public Management Forum is successfully held in Beijing. Mr. Wang Ercheng, Vice Minister of the Central Organization Department, Mr. Li Wei, President of the Development Research Center of the State Council (DRC), Mr. Hu Heping, Secretary of the CPC Tsinghua University's Committee, and Harvard Professor Anthony Saich address the opening ceremony. Over 200 participants attend the Forum and have in-depth discussions of topics such as scientific development and innovation of public management, economic restructuring and transformation of growth model, China’s urbanization and green growth, innovation of social management system for the sake of people’s livelihood, and how to facilitate reforms. The candid discussions touch upon a wide array of hot issues, including the trend of China’s social and economic development, status-quo of China’s economic restructuring, dilemma of migrant people against the semi-urbanization, countermeasures to coordinate different interests and address social contradictions, new stage of China’s development, pressure for government management and breakthrough of institutional innovation.
Hosted by DRC, the Public Management Forum is organized by the China Development Research Foundation. Its participants are mainly delegates of “China’s Leadership in Development Executive Program”(CLD). The forum aims to establish a platform to facilitate the exchange of delegates who are key leaders in various government agencies throughout the country and have abundant practical experience of public management. This Forum is not only a seminar to discuss innovations of China’s public management reform but a reunion for all the ten CLD programs.
China Public Management Forum was held in 2005, 2006 and 2007 in which the participants shared their experience of applying public management theories to practice to solve practical problems.
