Award Ceremony of 2012 Developmental Research Scholarship
On Dec. 19, 2012, CDRF hosted the Award Ceremony of 2012 Developmental Research Scholarship with nearly 40 scholarship winners attending the ceremony. These scholarship recipients, either MA students or PhD candidates, all came from top universities such as Tsinghua University and Peking University.
Mr. CUI Xin, CDRF Deputy Secretary General, chaired the ceremony. Mr. WANG Wei, Researcher and Deputy Director-General of Institute of Market Economy in DRC, and Mr. LIU Shouying, Researcher and Deputy Director-General of Research Department of Rural Economy in DRC, were also present and exchanged their ideas and academic and policy research experience with the scholarship winners. They encouraged young researchers to undertake problem-oriented research, conduct in-depth grassroots surveys and ask the right questions, so as to make research deep- rooted in China’s practical situation and have a better understanding of the society.
It is since 2001 that CDRF started the Developmental Research Scholarship Program, aiming at exploring effective mechanisms to foster talents for policy research. The scholarship is awarded to excellent postgraduate students in national key universities and research institutes, who share the same academic interests with DRC research institutes and departments and participate in DRC’s research projects. Now, the scholarship program is gaining more and more attention and becomes widely welcomed among universities and research institutes.
