The 9th (2011)

The 9th China Leaders in Development Executive Program was offered from May 4, 2011 to June 26, 2011. A total of 48participants, including officials from 21 provinces (or municipalities/autonomous regions), the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp and 18 central-level departments (including seven provincial-level officials), enrolled in the program. Chen Xiangqun, member of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, served as the head of the class.

The program consisted of two phases: participants receiving training at Tsinghua University, and going to the United States for field investigation and studying at Harvard University. The program covered public administration, urban planning, housing policy, public health, crisis management, energy strategy, sustainable development and other topics. During their stay in the United States, the participants visited the US Department of State, Michigan State Government, Grand Rapids, Alticor World Headquarters, the World Bank and other places, and exchanged opinions with relevant officials, scholars and entrepreneurs to build mutual understanding.
