Rio Tinto and CDRF Agrees to Further Cooperation
                                On 12 December 2023, Rio Tinto and the China Development Research Foundation 
(CDRF) held a partnership extension ceremony in Beijing. The two sides promised 
to further promote the construction of a demonstration zone for the 
implementation of new development concepts in Bijie and continue to explore the 
innovative models and sustainable development solutions for rural revitalization 
in Bijie demonstration zone over the period 2024 to 2027.
Zhang Junkuo, chairman of CDRF, Fang Jin, vice chairman and secretary-general 
of CDRF, Cheng Huiqiang and Qiao Zhengyang, deputy secretary-generals of CDRF, 
Dominic Barton, Chairman of Rio Tinto, Jakob Stausholm, CEO of Rio Tinto and 14 
board members, Alf Barrios, Chief Commercial Officer of Rio Tinto, Ren Binyan, 
CEO of Rio Tinto China and others attended the signing ceremony.


In 2021, Rio Tinto and CDRF signed a three-year cooperation agreement to 
jointly support the construction of a demonstration zone for the implementation 
of new development concepts in Bijie, Guizhou Province. In the past two years, 
the project has made positive progress in the areas of early childhood 
development, green and sustainable development, and intangible cultural heritage 
protection. CDRF will continue to work with multinational enterprises to assist 
Bijie in constructing and implementing a new development concept demonstration 
zone from aspects such as green development, human resource development and 
institutional innovation.
