A Canadian Delegation from the Red River College Visit CDRF
On October 15, 2013, a four-member delegation from the Red River College (RRC) of Canada visited CDRF, including Janet Jamieson and Louise Gordon, the Chair and the Dean of the School of Health Sciences and Community Services at RRC. Research fellows from the Centre for Child Development of CDRF, National Center for Women and Children’s Health of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Beijing Bright Future Children’s Medical Research Center attended the meeting. Professor Jamieson introduced the Science of ECD, a multi-media device for network education developed by the school with many research institutions and foundations in Canada and the U.S., which aimed to build a resource-sharing platform between the scientific research and practice on global early childhood development.
CDRF Secretary General Fang Jin said that the Early Childhood Development Pilot Project conducted by CDRF in China’s western poverty-stricken areas since 2009 has had good policy and social influence. He hoped that the Science of ECD, as a platform for network education, could display China’s policy and practical experience in early childhood development to countries across the globe and serve international cooperative cooperation.
